The Collects

The prayer for the week

  OR...
Let your merciful ears, O Lord,
be open to the prayers of your humble servants;
and that they may obtain their petitions
make them to ask such things as shall please you;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Lord of heaven and earth,
as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer,
give us patience and courage never to lose hope,
but always to bring our prayers before you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Care for Creation

GreatBigGreenWeekOur small group is planning a day on Saturday 1st October to draw together our villages in the Rectory Garden bringing together everyone’s concerns and ideas as to how we can respond better to the climate crisis.

This will be part of the national Great Big Green Week.
If you would like to be involved come to a planning meeting on Thursday 1st September at 7.45pm at the Vicarage.

Day of Prayer for Ukraine

UkraineSadly Wednesday 24th August marks six months since the invasion by Russia and the inaction of China, India and other powers. The churches in our villages will be holding a day of prayer and reflection in St Thomas’.

We will have short publicly led prayers at 7am, 12.30pm, 4.30pm and 7pm in addition to our 10.30am Holy Communion service. Please call in or make use of the prayer resources we hope to have in every church.
